Pope High School PTSA will sponsor a parent seminar featuring John Trautwein on Monday, March 28 at 7pm in the Pope Theater. John founded the Will To Live Foundation in memory of his 15-year old son, Will, who was a freshman at Northview HS when he died in 2010. John’s message is the MISSION of HOPE, LOVE & THE WILL TO LIVE. The Will to Live Foundation is dedicated to preventing teen suicide by improving the lives and the ‘Will To Live’ of teenagers through education and awareness of mental health and the silent killer “depression”, and encourages teens to recognize the love and hope that exist in each other.
The Will To Live Foundation's concept of "Life Teammates" illustrates to teens that it is alright to share fears and feelings, to reach out and help a friend in need, and not be afraid to say “Love Ya Man”. The Will To Live Foundation’s motto is “For the Kids, Through the Kids, By the Kids,” and offers hope and a positive message to combat the tragedy of teen suicide in America by bringing people together to help one another in a time of need.
